5.3.3.0 updates
HI folks. Firstly William, the L gesture. To my knowledge you could use it
to read the whole screen of your fire tablet and even kindle books but it
was never explicitly announced when you opened up the kindle app and a book
until this update. After speaking to tech support yesterday about what I
found in fire OS 5.3.3.0, I can confirm that they are indeed bugs and have
been submitted to the relevant department. While looking at my kindle
unlimited library yesterday and the books I had borrowed we also noticed
that on the fire tablet you are unable to filter or sort your content
despite their being drop-down menues to do so. This doesn't appear to be a
Voiceview issue as I was sharing my screen with an amazon representative and
they could not get the menues to drop down either despite them being there.
There is a workaround for finding out exactly where you are in a book and
that is to double tap and bring up the menu where you would normally go to
start text to speech. The info is there. The information is also still
available on the kindle book itself but Voiceview does not read it.
Anyway, the point of this email was also to give an email address to those
of you in the UK who, like me, are sick and tired of being thrown back to
amazon UK whenever you submit a support ticket. It is
kindle-feedback@xxxxxxxxxxxx.
I haven't tried it yet but am planning to as I've noticed that the third
dropdown menu on the kindle unlimited library web page does not work either
so I'll let you know how I get on.
