Hi,
Just my opinion, I have had my Fire 4 now for just a few days and am only
really starting to get used to it.
It was frustrating at first but I think that this is because I am not really
sure what I am doing.
I Set it up out of the box to my wifi with little problem at all.
I Think that they have done a lot of work since the last reviews were written.
What we really need is someone to write a little tutorial on how to use the
device.
As it is not there in comparison to the apple devices in my opinion, it has
real potential to be a low cost solution to tablets for the visually impaired.
Amazon offer a live chat as well which works with JAWS and they seem really
kean to help and listen to suggestions.
I Would love to set up my email on it but this is something else that I need to
try, while the weather is like it is this weekend, I may find some time on my
hands apart from the rugby which I am really looking forward to!
I Was thinking this morning, I have this Kindle and I am probably never going
to use it!
I Was thinking of selling it but now, I have the BBC IPlayer radio, at the very
least, I can use it to listen to the radio down stairs to save having to have a
laptop on my lap or radio so I have one use for it :-)

Subject: [vi-kindle] Curious as to the State of Kindle Fire Accessibility

First, I am quite excited to see some activity on this list. I
subscribed to the list several years ago, when I was given a Kindle
Keyboard (some call it the Kindle 3) as a gift. I found the list
interesting and helpful and I used the KK to its full potential.
However, once I got an iPhone the KK received hardly any use and I now
use the Kindle app on the iPhone to read Kindle content.
Once the Kindle Fire began including Screen Reader to allow for
accessibility, I was excited about this but the few reviews I heard
about it were not entirely positive and I had gotten the feeling that
most blind people gave up on Amazon, jumped ship and went over to Apple.
Considering more activity is taking place on this list, I'd like to ask
how the latest KF units are doing when it comes to accessibility. I'm
speaking about books but also the app store, Silk and using the other
apps. Is the KF worth considering as a usable tablet for the visually
impaired? Are there blogs and other support Web sites which deal with
this topic?

Is there a bookshare app or a app to listen to podcasts on the Kindle Fire?
