Hello Iaen,
IMO, the short answer is no.
I've been changing ROM's/ Rooting phone for quite a while now and have had some very scary moments along the way. It's something that takes a lot of preparation and reading and mostly produces a result which is only different, not better than what you already have. I updated the ROM on my Note 3 using Odin and needed someone to read me the occasional screen. Besides, changing ROM's in newer Samsung phones can trip the Knox security bit voiding your warranty. You could also brick your phone creating a very pretty but almost useless paper weight.
