[vi-android] Eyes-Free list [was "Re: Re: what are those must have apps?"]

It's most definitely a moderated list, and it's been moderated for a while now. The moderation is pretty light though.

There's also been a concerted effort by list members to clean things up, cut down on the flaming and move off topic posts to other lists. That doesn't mean you still don't have some opinionated members on that list. It's also still a very high traffic list.

I don't agree that it'll necessarily deteriorate back to the level it was a few years ago.

Also, don't forget that joining the Eyes-Free list is required to become a Talk Back beta user, so there is a vested interest by Google and devoted Android users to keep that list a positive resource for blind Android users.

They are indeed not moderated, unless they have recently started.

It actually is moderated, from what I can tell. I could be wrong though.

As long as it remains unmoderated, it will get bad again.

I couldnt agree with the other Christopher more here if I wanted to
do so on all points including the Eyes Free list.

I've actually, since setting my subscription back to normal mail,
been very impressed with the help I've received, as well as the help
    I've been able to provide.

I'd say at this point, at least until proven otherwise, the list
    definitely has gotten much better.

IMHO, the Eyes-Free list is much better than it was a few years
        ago. I
joined recently when I got my S7 and between a minimal bit of
        moderation
and the realization of most group members that the off topic
        posts and
flaming was ruining the list, things have improved a lot. Just
        like on
any list, you're going to have opinionated people, so one should
        never
let the vocal minority speak for the whole list.

I, for example, would never tell someone what they should and
        should not
buy. I might express my own opinions and hopefully provide some
        reasons
that might help, but I don't know how important other features
        are to
other people and what financial situation they're in.

admittedly is a bit old, so I definitely know where they're
coming from, but telling you just flat out not to get it is
going a bit far in my opinion.
