Let’s Go Bowling
The Activities Committee of the Vermont Council of the Blind has planned an
activity for you that will be both fun and a little fattening.
We invite you to go bowling with us On Thursday March 15 at Twin City Bowling,
located at 708 Route 302 in Barre. We plan to bowl two games, and the fun
begins at 10:00 AM. Each game is $3, and bowling shoes will be $1.50. As
always, drivers transporting blind or visually impaired passengers will bowl
and eat as guests of VCB. By the time we have bowled two games we should all
probably be hungry for a good lunch. We will be eating at K’s Korner which is
right at the bowling alley. K’s has a nice variety of appetizers, burgers,
sandwiches and salads, and the prices seem to fall between $10 and $15. The
food is good, and the wait staff was helpful and friendly when I was there.
To join us at Twin City Bowling please call Lorraine Watker at 802-479-0353 to
make a reservation by Monday March 12. Lorraine can answer any questions you
might have about this activity. If you are not a bowler, please consider coming
anyway. The lunch should be delicious, and there is plenty of room to sit and
chat with your bowling friends.
Don’t Forget! Our next audio described movie at the Essex Cinema is Thursday
March 1. The movie begins at 10:00 AM, and there is lunch afterwards for anyone
who wants to come. The price for the movie which includes popcorn, candy and a
drink, is $10.50, and there are usually three movies to choose from.
Annual Meeting: You should be receiving some information in the mail very soon
about the Vermont Council for the Blind’s annual meeting. You will probably
want to attend this meeting because of the fabulous food and the very
interesting program. So save the date; it is Saturday April 28.
There are many other interesting activities being planned for this year, so
please stay tuned!
