Heard a scarlet tanager singing in Powhatan this morning. At Dutch Gap
yesterday afternoon, there were a several redstarts singing and visible
along the Dutch Gap Loop. A couple of them are reliably along the trail
just beyond the maintence shed fork. Would anticipate their arrival
shortly, if not already, just beyond the boardwalk trail below the Henricus
Visitor Center. Additionally, many yellow palm warblers were present along
the Dutch Gap loop in the neighborhood of the 2.5 mile marker. Six of them
were banded yeasterday at 1st Landing State Park in Va. Beach.
