Had a young Red-bellied Woodpecker slam into the dining room window this past weekend. It was dazed for a bit down in the shrubs. After an hour to calm down and cool off  in a make-shift cage with suet strapped to  the side and water available, the little guy was successfully released to the white oak he frequents. As he hopped up the tree, Mom came along to give him a beak full of food and off they flew...
