I forgot to mention yesterday that when I swung by there on the way home from 42nd St. the nest was torn open on the ground with some mature bird feathers scattered around near it. I suppose a predator took it at night and was able to snatch the incubating adult. I could hear one singing-perhaps to attract a new mate? On an upbeat note, there may be nest construction by Acadians nearby (and higher off the ground!). Take care. Jan
