After seeing Bob Schamerhorn's beautiful male Purple Finch picture on
his weekly posting, I started checking out the finches at my feeders.
And sure enough there was a female Purple Finch mixed in with the many
House Finches. She is still hanging around and hopefully will spend
the winter here.
