Just a reminder as written up in the RAS Thrasher-our 3rd annual trip to the Nature Conservancy's Piney Grove Preserve in Sussex County will be this Sunday 4 June. Clark White from Cape Henry Audubon will lead us. We haven't come up empty handed yet. Seeing the target bird-the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker is very time-sensitive; therefore we will leave the VA Diner on Route 460 in Wakefield at 5:15 a.m. After our early morning sightings we usually revitalize at the diner for breakfast then return to the field for Brown-headed Nuthatches, Summer Tanagers, Red-headed Woodpeckers and Hooded Warblers. Clark is a great leader. For more information and to sign up email me at juliekazz@xxxxxxxxxxx or call 804.530.3660 after 8:30 pm. Hope to see you bright and early, Julie Kacmarcik RAS Field Trip Co-Chair
