I just saw my FOS Dark-eyed Juncos here in Glen Allen. I know it’s not as
exciting as Purple Finches, Red-breasted Nuthatches, or Pine Siskins, but I
always wonder if these are the same individuals as previous years. I can’t
find research on site fidelity in DEJU, though.
I haven’t made the switch from the not-so-popular safflower to the winter
mix I use and traffic at the feeders is light. That leads me to believe
that these two individuals aren’t just following other species. It’s times
like this that I wish I were a bird bander.
Anyway...😄
