This morning we explored the John J Radcliffe Appomattox River Conservation Area, Chesterfield County's new park, and were delighted with the great trail that currently goes almost 1-mile between the river and a large swamp. The trail has an extended boardwalk and bridge over the first area where the swamp empties out into the Appomattox (at about 3/4 mile) and will ultimately continue and cross a second boardwalk over the swamp, and then wind further downstream past the old dam.
