Kathy,

You nailed that one! It's a Blue Grossbeak. They do come to feeders sometimes.
We have had then before, usually just one for a while as in your case. I think
one discovers the feeder and sticks around for several days.

  Dear Bird Listserv friends -

This bird has been at my feeder for about 5 days - is it a blue grosbeak? I
have never had one at a feeder before. He is very skittish so it took a while
just to get this photo (such as it is).

He has been figuring out the bird feeder - at first he seemed drawn to it
because of the other birds, but it took a couple of days before he figured out
how to perch and get seeds very well.

  Thanks for your help!

  Kathy Kreutzer
