The Ash-throated Flycatcher has been refound at Ancarrow's Landing! I
first saw it this morning Jan. 6 along Brander St, about 0.3 miles before
the entrance into the park. Arun Bose had first found it along the road,
and we were shortly joined by Beth and Elison Orcutt and Lewis Barnett.
After they left I continued birding the area. I found a Blue-headed Vireo
along the pipeline cut downriver, but no gnatcatchers or other warblers.
On my return, I relocated the flycatcher in the spot that I originally
found it on 12/29, in the open field a few hundred yards downriver from the
parking lot, this is nearly 0.5 miles from where we had seen the bird
earlier in the morning. So this flycatcher wanders widely in the area.
