It was, if anything, even quieter this morning at 42nd Street this morning than yesterday. I had 44 species yesterday, and only 36 this morning, in roughly the same amount of time. I would hazard a guess that there were more birders than warbler species wandering around the park. I had only seven warblers, and nothing new, and ran into seven other birders. Orchard Orioles put on a good show at the Park headquarters, and that was the highlight. Lest anyone be discouraged from coming out for tomorrow's 42nd Street bird walk, I understand that Arun Bose has arranged for a fallout and at least one ABA category 5 rarity for the morning, so come on out! The Crazy Coots and Purple Martians would appreciate your help in getting our Big Days off to a good start as well (http://www.richmondaudubon.org/birdathon/BirdathonTeams.html) Today's checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/va/view/checklist?subID=S13972718 -- Lewis Barnett Dept. of Math and CS, University of Richmond
