Stepped out into the yard last evening about 6:30 or 7:00 and was immediately
greeted with the sounds of woodcocks peenting and performing display songs
(they started in early December), spring peepers provided a surround-sound
chorus, a few tundras and Canada geese honking, and two barred owls sounding
off like tubas. It was a spellbinding performance.
