Rambling~~~
Family all have colds of late, so am tending dear hearts,
no time for birding so don't have much to say birdee-wise
but we had a smidge of excitement here this morning
I was sipping a cuppa, sitting in the rocker, looking for birdees
and saw Tail perched way high in a tall old oak, about halfway into
the woods, sitting in the sun, looking downright transfixed
lotsa other birdees coming to feeders cause it was so frigid
Tail sat and sat and sat, probably 30 minutes or so
I got another cuppa and another, kept watching birdees
too many Starlings
when all of a sudden, Tail plunged down about 10 feet
landed on a thick branch below and pinned Squirrel
who after a moment, managed to wiggle free
for the next 10 minutes or so Tail kept after Squirrel
who must have been damaged, cause Squirrel couldn't move well
kept clinging to the underside of branches where Tail couldn't reach
2 Crows came in to pester Tail, but Tail ignored them,
intent on Squirrel, he lunged and plunged several more times
but never got Squirrel
Crows got bored and flew away
as Tail perched in the sun again
and I realized I was tightly gripping my cuppa.
