I was able to bird in New Jersey and North Carolina last week. Early last
week, I went to Cape May and took the last walk of the season with Pete
Dunne and others. We saw Snow Buntings and a short eared owl. Visited the
hawkwatch station and not much action that morning. Then I headed to
Coastal North Carolina. At Lake Mattamaskeet and Alligator River Preserve,
saw many Night Herons, 7 sandhill cranes, 7 bald eagles and the Snowy Owl
in Buxton. And Lee Adams looking for Short-eared owls!
Now I am looking forward to getting back to Highland and seeing some Golden
Eagles!
