[Va-bird] Yellow House Finch

I have seen occasional yellow adult male House Finches, but today I had one
at my feeders in Annandale (Fairfax County), strongly yellow, which was NOT
an adult male - presumably an immature male, or perhaps an adult female?
Any info on this?
