I really wanted to try and go out somewhere today for a few hours of
birding but alas work kept me at home but not chained to my desk. Ah
the joys of working at home.
The highlights were two new yard birds, Warbling Vireo and
Chestnut-sided Warbler. Also of note were a male and female Common
Yellowthroat, no fewer than three American Redstarts, 1 female and 2
males, one of which is a first year male and has a very lop-sided
black bib! The young male sang for about 3 hours straight. He seems to
be very eager! Still a few White-throated Sparrows about, and finally
a Brown Creeper caught my eye just as I was about to come in for the
evening.
