VA Birders,
I counted 30 species in my yard this morning within about an hour's time. A
male Blue-winged Warbler was the first warbler of the day, and was soon
followed by a male Hooded singing part of a song. A Yellow-throated Warbler
investigated the electrical pole, which they do every year and a Worm Eating
Warbler landed momentarily on an electrical wire. Other birds of interest were
a pair of Indigo Buntings, a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 4 Cedar Waxwings, an
Eastern Phoebe, a Gray Catbird, a Brown Thrasher, 3 Red-eyed Vireos, 2 Northern
Flickers, 6 Ruby-throated Hummers, 6 Chipping Sparrows, a male Eastern Bluebird
and a possible Chestnut-sided Warbler (didn't get a good enough look).
The complete list follows.
