Greetings All,
As an addendum to Les Willis' report from Suffolk, there was a White-winged
Dove on the Butterfly Trail of the Eastern Shore of Virgionia National Wildlife
Refuge, this morning, Monday, November 17, at 7:00 a.m. It was in a loust tree
in exactly the same location as the Harris's Sparrows. The dove was also seen
about 7:15 a.m. by a contingent of bird research technicians including Fletcher
Smith, Zach Smith, Liz Rogan, and Jason Wade. Attempts to find the bird an
hour or so later proved unsuccessful.
Note that both the HY and adult male Harris's Sapprows were seen this
morning.
