After reading the sighting record at Chincoteague's old visitors center on
Monday Oct. 20, a thorough search of the Lighthouse Trail area in the
afternoon did not find this bird. Not even a Robin. Nuts.
It was a three falcon day, and scoters were moving south just offshore.
I was without computer access to post until today.

A group of Massachusetts birders discovered a brightly plumaged adult
male VARIED THRUSH at Chincoteague NWR, Accomack Co, VA, Oct 19 at 8:50
am. The bird was observed for about 5 minutes as it moved from perch to
perch at the edge of the parking lot for the Lighthouse Trail.
