Team eBird is aware that eBird was hacked and they are working on the issue
now. I received the following info from Chris Wood (eBird project leader)
"Our application team is working on a solution, but if any of you get any
questions, please let users know that all accounts and data are safe and
secure. The only items affected are the news and features sections and about
pages in eBird and our portals."

DO NOT visit eBird, the web site is currently not under the control of the
eBird team and there is a strong possibility that the hackers can pull data
off of your computer if you go there.
As soon as the eBird team regains control and restores the system you should
change your password. If you are using the same password for other websites
I would also recommend changing it on those sites as well.
