Subject: [Va-bird] Song identification

Does anyone know of a bird that makes a noise like a whistle. The first
"whistle" sounds like a low note, then high then low again.  The second
one is like a one note whistle that trails off. It was a heavily wooded
area this morning. I just don't even know where to begin looking for
this. It's a long shot I know, but thought some of you seasoned birders
might know where I could begin to look, then I could go online and
compare. Did not see it anywhere but think it was high up in a tree.
