Saundra,
Please try to document that Rose-breasted Grosbeak to the fullest extent
you can, and if possible, try to get a photograph. There are very few
winter (Dec-Feb) records of this species in Virginia (only 3 in eBird
currently, and maybe another 10 or so listed in the Gold Book, plus
whatever records just aren't well known).
This is also the appropriate time of year for a Black-headed Grosbeak to
appear, and the two species have many superficial similarities. Again, a
photograph here would greatly help in confirming one versus the other if it
shows back up. In either case, you've got a great record here!
