VA Birders,
As secretary of the Virginia Avian Records Committee, I'd like to call
your attention to the updates on the VARCOM webpage. We are working
hard to provide birders in Virginia with more information about VARCOM.
There are many improvements to come, but if you check out the webpage

you can find a lot of new information including the guidelines on how to
write up a rare bird sighting.
Also, I have not received any write ups for the Clark's Grebe seen near
Fort Story on Dec 31 and Jan 1 or the Trumpeter Swan in Prince William
County. It is really important to ornithology in Virgina to have these
sightings reviewed, so please submit a write up or contact me for more
