After seeing 15-20 nighthawks at Tysons Corner on Wednesday, I was a bit
surprised and disappointed to find none last night. So, I drove over
tonight not knowing what to expect. There were birds tonight, but they were
mostly quite high up. I counted somewhere between 10 to 15 at the most.
They did not seem to be as actively flying around and feeding as on
Wednesday. It actually appeared as if most of then were just migrating
through and came over to the lights to see what was happening. I did
observe some feeding , but mostly just slowly flying through. Wonder what
tomorrow night will bring?
