Hi all,
A loverly day today, though cold in the early hours. I visited Leeysylvania
first,
hoping for a windfall of migr;ants, but little new stuff had arrived. Did
have my
first NORTHERN PARULA (3), plus BLACK AND WHITE, YELLOW-THROATED,
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, LA WATERTHRUSH AND HUGE NUMBERS OF
YELLOW-RUMPED. There seems to have been quite a movement when the
wind died down. Also of note a Leeysylvania were 150-200 DC CORMORANTS
which seemed to be getting out of Dodge, so to speak. Lots of RUBY-CROWNED
KINGLETS, some of them singing their incredible song.
Saw two FORSTER'S TERNS at Neabsco Creek on my way to Possum Pt Road.
At Possum Point & Cockpit, had 4 YELLOW-THROATED WA;RBLERS, also
B & W, OVENBIRD, a pair of BALD EAGLES, soaring and singing (not a
common phenom for me); a HOUSE WREN at a residence on Possum Pt.
Road, and my first LAUGHING GULLS of the season.
On to a brief drive by of Cedar Run Wetlands, where I saw the 2 CASPIAN TERNS
again, plus BOTH YELLOWLEGS species, but lower numbers than yesterday.
Also 6 BONAPARTE'S GULLS and several more LAUGHING GULLS.
a NICE DAY, AND, FOLKS, IT'S GONNA GET BETTER!
