Low tide this morning was around 1015 at the Stone Bridge just south of
Alexandria on the Mount Vernon Parkway. Over a thousand Ring-billed Gulls
rested on the mud flats north of the bridge. Three possible Purple Martins
flew directly overhead. Chimney Swifts rolled in the sky. Osprey fished from
nearby trees. Brown-headed Cowbirds flocked from tree to tree with a large
group of Common Grackles. For a cloudy morning, it was perfect.
