The day started out very slowly - great clouds went to waste. About noonish
they started to come, mostly from the East as the wind was basically from
that direction all day, with varying speeds fro 2 to 5. Also the birds were
atypically low for the most part, which meant that a good number were
actually naked-eye types! Clear blue for the afternoon hours, which made
the low flight an extra blessing. The birds:
Osprey 9
BE 2 (one gorgeous adult which came right over & one 1st year)
Harrier 7
SS 46
CH 18
BW 2
RS 1
RT 2
AK 1
UA 7
UB 1
UR 4
TOTAL 100
The number of unidentifieds was due to the fact they were W A Y out there and
they were hard to keep track of!
Other ;birds of note: a bunch of Blue Jays (70-odd), twp DC Corms and 1
Common Loon heading NW for reason known only to himself.
Other participants were Old Faithful Jen Folts, Jamie Gregory, Richard Taylor,
Bill Powers and BJ Westerveldt, whose help I appreicated. We worked hard
for these birds with the hard blue sky.
