I'd shared a photo this morning and realize that yesterday I'd sent the
original report just to our local list serve. Here's the "missing" info:
Greg Moyers and I found what we believe was a Loggerhead (vs. Northern) Shrike
yesterday during our CBC (VARC circle, sponsored by the Rockingham Bird Club.)
(Less than ideal photos, so if it turns up again and proves to be a Northern,
we'll have no complaints!)
Location was in Augusta County, SW of Town of Bridgewater near the western
Augusta / Rockingham County line. At this point I can't suggest it as a
reliable spot to relocate the bird and also understand at least one landowner
is very cautious of road-side visitors, some who have less-than-law-abiding.
