Following up on Arun Boses's report from yesterday, Bev Leeuwenberg, Paul
Bedell, Mike Iwanik, Arun, Bob & Jenna Coles, and one other birder ( sorry,
blocked on your name ) were back again this am - and it was a very happening
place
to be. Lots of shorebirds: many Lesser & Greater Y'legs, Pectoral and Stilt
Sandpipers, White-rumped, Semi-Palm, and Least Sandpipers, 2 Eared Grebes, 5
Red-Necked Phalaropes, 1 Wilson's Phalarope, 1 Black Tern, and other expected
birds. On the way back, Bev, Paul, and I stopped at Crewe's Channel ( near
Curles Neck ) and found over 60 Great Egrets, an extraordinary number and
consistent with Wendy Ealding's report earlier today.
