Well, it was fun while it lasted, but the scissor-tailed flycatcher eggs at
Countryside Golf Course in Roanoke did not hatch. Kevin Bingham, who lives
on the golf course where she was nesting, kept up with the bird and nest for
us these past few weeks. He had not been able to check for her for a few
days and today when he did, he did not see her around anywhere. So he
checked the nest and there were only two remaining eggs. They were overdue
anyway, so they were probably not even fertile. Kevin forwarded pictures to
me of the remaining eggs.
I tried to send this message and the pictures to Roger Clapp for the
records, but it bounced back "Access denied." So, Roger, if you want the
pictures, please find out what I need to do to forward them to you.
