This year FLint Hill School's Ecological Study
trip to Ecuador will be doing the entire trip as
a vertebrate-a-thon. 100% of the money raised
will go directly to puchase conservation land
that will serve as a corridor between Antisana
National Park and San Isidro Reserve in the
cloudforest of the eastern slope of the Andes.
We hope to see 400-500 species and raise at least
$2500. Sixteen high school students with
interests ranging from birds to fishes to herps
to mammals will be attending the trip. We wanted
all the students of all interests involved so we
broadened it from a bird-a-thon to a
vertebrate-a-thon. The trip runs from July 23 to
Aug 14, spending one week in the Amazon Basin,
one week in the Andes, and one week in the
Galapagos.
Please contact me off line if you would like to
pledge. You may pledge per species or give just
a set amount. The entire gift is tax-deductible
and goes directly to WorldParks who will send an
official certificate to all who give at least $50
(the average price of an acre).
