BJ and I found a light-phase Rough-Legged Hawk today at 11AM along a road NW
of Middletown. It was perched on a tree right above
the road and flew off when we stopped. At 4:45, we saw what appeared to be the
same bird about 1/2 mile away. For anyone interested,
the bird was south of Chapel Road, just west of Middle Marsh Brook (G2/ADC Map
30).
Also nearby were 2 Harriers, 1 Kestrel, 2 Red-tailed, and 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk.
