This afternoon, Robert Hindle and I re-found the Ross's Goose in Swan Cove,
Chincoteague NWR. As usual, it was within the large flock of Snow Geese. The RG
stood out initially not because of the size difference (though that was clearly
there on inspection) but because the bird just looked 'different' - its clean
look, with its nice rounded head with the beady eye set in a pure white
background. Bill shape and size difference confirmed the sighting.
