VA Birders,
13 birders participated in this morning's Northern Virginia Bird Club walk
at Riverbend Park in Fairfax County. During the walk, we circumambulated the
meadow and then walked down to the Potomac River which we followed all the
way to Great Falls National Park. Highlights included a very close
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in the parking lot, 2 Brown Thrashers in the meadow, 3
Northern
Parulas along the river, a Bald Eagle flying over, and a Louisiana
Waterthrush at Great Falls near the dam. Overall, we had 42 species on a
beautiful
morning to be outdoors.
