This morning I found "our" RED-SHOULDERED HAWK nest. Last week I saw one
carrying a stick but lost sight or it. The nest is right far along. It
usually takes about two weeks to reach this stage. She was rearranging small
sticks and leaves so it is almost complete. Right on schedule. It is visible
from our house but not on our property this year. When the trees leaf out, our
view will be cut off. I am sure our neighbors won't mind viewing from their
driveway.
Other birds on and around our feeders are PURPLE FINCH, TOWEE, FOX SPARROW,
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, BROWN CREEPER, WHITE THROATED SPARROW (many), CEDAR
WAXWING, and all the usual ones for Tidewater.
