I was in my home in Blue Grass (Highland County) and heard a bird outside
that I could not identify. Looked on and on the telephone pole very close
was a RH woodpecker. I have seen it several times this spring. It's been a
while since I've heard their call, so it was great to hear a new bird. Also
my yard bluebirds are examining the house for the third time this year. I
am surprised that I may get 3 successful nestings in the relatively short
summer here.
