This morning there were almost 2 dozen PURPLE FINCHES at the abbey feeders,
which is more than I have had all year. About two thirds of them were female.
Yesterday while I was working in the vineyard I watched 5 RAVENS flying back
and forth above our mountain. A pair (presumably the local pair) was chasing
the other three, and it went on and on, back and forth for a couple of hours,
with much croaking and other more unusual noises such as only Ravens can
produce.
