I don't mean to monopolize posts...but I went outside 5 minutes later and there
were 3 Mississippi Kites!!
Interesting behavior and development.
I think I've spotted a possible nest. Right materials and height, but smaller
than most raptor nests I've seen.

The Kites (2) continue in my neighborhood in Prince William near the upper
Occoquan.
Since Sunday I've only seen one in the morning around 0630.
This afternoon, both were perched conspicuously at about 1600.
Hope they last the summer. Thanks to everyone that has sent me info on kites.

Kite appearance continued today, but behavior has changed. Only seeing one
Kite at a time the past couple of times spotted. Gregarious behavior has
ended, hopefully temporarily.
I sure would like to hear from anyone having knowledge or opinions on the
behavior or Kites in general.
This pair of birds has sparked the "birding" interest of many from outside
the hobby on my court and neighborhood.

The two kites in my neighborhood were extremely active all day. On the
lookout for a nest.

Second day in row I've spotted the Mississippi Kite in a dead tree on
my court in Prince William County.

Today I had an excellent view of an adult Mississippi Kite in the
Riverview sub-division (near the upper Occoquan River)
