While standing on the hill above the trail next to the river, I and several
other birders saw the Prairie Falcon at the power plant in Alexandria this
evening after 6:45 pm. It flew in from the south, passed the two large water
tanks, and landed on a beam on the south side of the main building, where it
ate some prey.
Two hours earlier, while monitoring a bluebird nestbox trail at Greendale
Golf Course in Fairfax County, I saw two Palm Warblers.
