ONLY 50 (fiddy) cents! On the west side of the stone bridge on the GW PKWY,
just heading out of OLD TOWN, ALEXANDRIA
Wait, not that kind of peep show...but almost like the good ol' days. As the
mudflats shrank, the number of little ones grew to about 50 (fiddy - like in
2.fiddy) Mostly SEMIP SANDPIPERS and a few LEAST SANDPIPERS. Treat for me was
the lone PECTORAL SAND. - my first of the year. One KILLDEER and six YELLOWLEGS
( 3 lesser, 3 greater) rounded out the show. Of the 350 gulls, all but a
handful were Laughing - others were RB GULLS. One CASPIAN TERN finally showed
itself, just before the crew flew off into the sunset. Maybe we'll get a bit
more
diversity if the numbers grow - vegetation starting to come back after all
the construction around RT 1, we'll soon see.
