VA Birders:
Sixteen NVBC birders enjoyed a sunny, but cold and windy morning of early
spring birding at Bristoe Station Battlefield Park in Prince William county.
We collectively found 51 species, the highlights were very active and vocal
pairs of Eastern Meadowlarks, a Brown Thrasher delightfully singing away in a
cedar tree unembarrassed by his complete absence of a tail, singing Chipping
and Field Sparrows, both species of kinglets together with a Brown Creeper, a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Killdeers, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and a couple of
Palm Warblers that gave us very brief looks before flying away.
