Hi,
Yesterday afternoon a small bird about 4 inches from tail to bill perched
on my Plumeria. At first glance I thought was a juvinile gold finch, but
after looking again, I notice markings that were not consistant with my
initial thought. Then after going through every page in the Peterson's
guide for eastern birds without finding a match, I turned to the internet.
The bird has a distinctive black patch under the bill on the neck and the
its white breast has black markings and can be seen in the pictures # 283f
and 285f. I saw some pictures of the Hermit Warbler on the web and it
seemed to match up, but it is native to the west coast. So I am a little
bit unsure of what this bird is. I posted four of the better shots on my
webiste.

I would appreciate one of the experts out there in helping with this bird's
ID.
