Birded several places in eastern Loudoun County this morning and saw several
great bird birds. Starting at Bles Park, I found a American Bittern, 2 singing
White-eyed Vireos and a Gray Catbird. Along Loudoun County Parkway several
Savannah Sparrows were found as well as a Grasshopper Sparrow. A single Great
Egret was seen flying by the Heron Rookery. Algonkian Park was interesting for
a bit with many Yellow-rumped Warblers and a single Palm Warbler. Along the
river I found Bald Eagle, Common Merganser and a few Bonapartes Gulls. Once the
rain settled in many birds were quiet and hiding.
Happy Birding.
