Hello birders,

A quick report about some birds found yesterday (Dec 3).

In City Point (Hopewell) songbirds included a Yellow-throated Warbler, several
Orange-crowned Warblers, 1-2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and two Baltimore Orioles.
No sign of the Wilson’s Warbler.

In Colonial Heights at lunchtime, a Brant was still present in the ponds
adjacent to Walmart/Holiday Inn.

In Richmond,  a large gull flock roosting on the James at the new pedestrian
footbridge (the T-Pott) included a first winter Iceland Gull.  Also present was
a great candidate for a first winter Thayer’s.  The bird was only viewed for
seconds and no pics were taken.

Good birding,

Ellison
