We thought you would be int'd in the following which was reported to the Voice
of the Naturalist today by Jackie Howard. Joe Coleman
Observed Lark Sparrow foraging in and around the pond/stream at CF Ft Smith
Park with a couple house sparrows at approximately 430pm Sat May 22. Bird was
plainly visible under the very large oak tree just off the parking lot and if
at the benches by the small pond/stream, would be off to the right.
Gorgeously patterned head and clear breast, central spot clearly visible as was
the longish and large tail with white edges. I have only seen these birds out
west so a real treat and rarity here.
Please let others know.
