Howdy all,
The big story of the day was the amount of wind we had this morning. There
were quite a few birds around but the wind was against us all morning. We ended
up banding a total of 38 birds but it could have been much higher. We saw lots
of people at the banding station today and as luck would have it, we had
birds (although just a few) on every net run. I am hopeful the wind knocks off
by
morning tomorrow. It might be a relatively good day tomorrow. Guess we will
see!
Here's the numbers for the day:
9/24:
A. Redstart 5
Magnolia 1
N. Parula 1
Black-throated Blue 2
C. Yellowthroat 5
Black-and-white 5
Yellow-rumped 1

N. Waterthrush 3
Ovenbird 2
Red-breasted Nuthatch 2
Red-eyed Vireo 1
Swainson's Thrush 3
Gray Catbird 4
N. Cardinal 1

I hope to see everyone at the banding station soon!
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
